" practical & economical surfacing for everyday installations "
igh pressure laminate (HPL) generically known as Formica, is an excellent vanity surfacing material offering years of use at a readily affordable price.
With integral coved splash backs and front aprons, these vanity units can be made to match or complement the colours of other laminated washroom products such as WC cubicles and ducted access panels.
Vanity tops are manufactured from 18mm WBP plywood faced on one side with high pressure laminate (HPL).
The front of the unit can be made in a selection of edge profiles (see examples opposite), and the rear edge can be built up to form an integral coved upstand / splash back.
Ideally only top mounted type basins, as shown in the main image above, should be used with HPL vanity tops.
Although possible it is not recommended to use an under mounted type basin, as this may lead to delamination of the HPL from the plywood core due to accumulated water ingress.
Supported on either a softwood or galvanized steel framework, access under panels can be supplied in any of the following materials to complement your chosen top colour.
High pressure laminate, bonded to a moisture resistant chipboard core.
Real wood veneer bonded to a moisture resistant chipboard core.
